Miraa produces draft content. A clinician must review and approve everything before it enters a patient record.

User roles & access

Miraa controls access on more than one level so clinics can give people exactly what they need — and nothing more.

The layers of access

Role

Your role sets your baseline — for example, a clinician who runs consultations and approves notes, versus a staff member who handles admin and communications.

Clinic access level

On multi-seat clinics, an extra clinic access level controls whether you can see and manage clinic-wide settings (not just your own).

Permissions

Fine-grained permissions can grant or restrict specific capabilities on top of your role — for example, managing certain automations or communications.

Plan

Your clinic’s plan decides which features exist at all. A feature you can’t see may simply not be included in your plan.

Because access is layered, two people with the same job title can still see different things depending on their access level, permissions, and the clinic’s plan.

Typical roles

The exact role names shown in your workspace can vary by clinic and plan. Needs confirmation — confirm the precise labels in your clinic’s settings. As a general guide:

  • Clinician — runs consultations, captures audio, reviews and approves clinical notes and documents, and manages their own follow-up work.
  • Admin / practice manager — sets up the clinic, invites and manages users, manages billing, templates, and clinic-wide settings.
  • Staff / reception — supports admin and communications tasks, with limited or no access to clinical approval, depending on how the clinic is configured.
⚕️

Approval is a clinician responsibility. Regardless of role configuration, clinical content must be reviewed and approved by a clinician before it is finalised or sent. Roles change who can do admin, not who is responsible for clinical sign-off. See Clinician approval.

Principle: least privilege

Give each person the lowest level of access that lets them do their job. This reduces risk if an account is misused or compromised, and keeps patient data exposure to a minimum.

Managing access

Admins manage roles, access levels, and permissions from the clinic’s user management area. See Users & permissions for how to invite, adjust, and remove users.
